BeerStorming explained (sort of)
So folks who follow us over at Wooshii will have heard us refereing to beerstorming.
Creative thought is a difficult one just to turn on. There are any number of techniques and routes to getting your brain connecting dots in unusual ways.
The problems however of working in groups can often lead to a form of creative stagnation as issues such as Group Think and social pressure kick in.
At Wooshii we use a tried and tested method to beat these issues whilst fueling the fires of creative thought and enjoying a pint of England’s/Ireland’s finest. At some point inspiration and creativity are what are going to set you and your product apart. You can be as lean as you like in your product development but even Eric Reiss will agree that eventually the need to act on your information, optimization or the pivot and that often requires some creative thinking.
Enter Beerstorming - sounds great huh - although I like to think we at Wooshii invented the term, it is listed in the Urban Dictionary - (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Beerstorming) although the entry date is well after we started using it.
You can probably guess the process but as seasoned beertomer I thought I would lay out the three pint rule – (graph to accompany)

Pint 1 – People are generally still feeling a little shy, the flow over conversation is a little slow stagnant
Pint 2 – Idea are flowing, lots of notes, fantastic insights
Pint 3 – Creative ideas going through the roof BUT your ability to recall them is significantly impaired
Pint 4+ - Repetition, no recollection of great insights, handwriting illegible and the need to eat curry
