Left you on a bit of cliff last time I left. But here is my reasoning

1.	Twitter is just too big. Or rather the number of people following each other is too big. I have had to find ways in which to cut down on all the noise. It’s good for broadcasting which I guess is the point but once your following a certain number that’s it, your brain starts to melt.

I mean it’s just not possible to watch that many conversations and you can’t expect that many people to be following you. It’s all a bit pot luck. PLUS (and this is a biggy for me) YOU DON’T KNOW THESE PEOPLE !!!. The idea of trusted sources starts to become eroded as you start to follow more people than you actually know.

The key of course is to start un-following people. I’ve had to It’s the only way I get meaningful conversation.

2.	Facebook on the other hand is a closed group of trusted sources. As the feed from Facebook slowly picks more functionality as a consequence of its joining forces with FriendFeed it will become an ever more powerful tool. I am actually interested in almost all the posts I see on my feed and know and trust the sources. The noise to actual info is low.

Ultimately I think Twitter will become almost a broadcast only destination. Full of spam and marketing messages. It’s a shame I love the team behind it but I think somehow they need to address that issue or Facebook will slowly kill them off.

UPDATE – Is it time for twitter to sell? Yep -Unless they can come up with some killer revenue model.
